Opening hours:
24 hours for students and staff at the Faculty of Theology by using Student ID card and pin-code.

Opening hours of the Library Office, room 449:
Monday-Thursday  9.15-14
Closed on Fridays, weekends and Holy Days.
NB. Closed on February 9 and 13, 2012.


The library staff can be contacted by mail, phone or directly during office hours. With regard to renewals of loan please be so kind as to send us a mail including following details: : The title and the call no. of the items.

Primary users: The library of the Centre of African Studies mainly serves students and staff at the Faculty of Theology.

External users: External students may also get access to the collection through dispensation. In order to make use of the library you need to become a registered user. Please contact the staff during the office hours. Remember to bring your Health Insurance Card and student id-card. Once you have been granted access to the library you may use the library Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m.

Library services: Information on using the library is provided by the library staff. Please contact the staff in room 449 during office hours before you borrow books for the first time. If you need special assistance in searching for literature, either from the web or from our collection, you are most welcome to contact the staff. A general introduction to the library and the services offered is organized at the beginning of every autumn semester.

Subject area: The Library includes more than 10.000 books covering primarily African studies in history, economics, human rights, environment, literature, democracy, development studies, religion, politics and conflicts. The library subscribes to a considerable number of journals and holds a large collection of international report literature. We have many books published by African publishers.

N.B. Please notice that journals, reference books and theses before 2010 (afsluttende opgaver) are only for the use in the Library.

Computer and student Facilities:
There is a wireless network in the library and student seats are available for reading. In order to log on to the 2 computers in our library (and anywhere else in the faculty) you must obtain a user-id and password at the reception at the ground floor by showing your Student ID card.

Further information on what the requirements are for wireless networks can be found at the site of Eduroam. In order to use copy or print facilities you need to establish an account on the Internet. For further information please contact the reception at the ground floor. 

N.B. Please notice that external students do not have access to network and computers at the Faculty - including printing and photocopying facilties.
