Centre of African Studies is offering a 120 ECTS-points two-year full time master programme for graduates leading to an MA in African Studies. In addition CAS offers a 60 ECTS-points part-time programme leading to a Master degree from African Studies. Approx. 40 graduate students are admitted 1 September each year to the 2-year Master programme (Candidate), and approx. 10 students are recruited to the part-time master study programme, that begins 1 February and 1 September.

In addition, a growing number of students from other disciplines within the university and from neighbouring universities are attending one or more of the courses offered under the African Studies Programme in order to transfer credits to their main degree course. The credit students are admitted twice a year (1 February and 1 September).

CAS is facilitated with two full-time lecturers and with a considerable network of external high qualified lecturers that are responsible for the various courses and seminars. Most of the external lecturers are recruited from various departments within the University of Copenhagen and from research institutes outside the University.
